Brazil draw 1-1 with Morocco in their 2026 World Cup debut

Brazil and Morocco kicked off the group C match of the 2026 World Cup tournament with major attraction ending in a 1:1 draw.

Morocco were clearly the better side in the first half of the game, putting in a strong performance and showing excellent control of possession in an entertaining game against the five-time champions Brazil. Morocco then got the first goal of the game after Brahim Diaz picked up a loose ball in the midfield, played a perfect pass towards the very composed Ismael Saibari who then lobbed the ball past Alisson in the 21st minute of the match.

However, things didn’t stay that way for long as Brazil regrouped and eventually got their goal; their squad so overcrowded with difference-makers. Vinicius Junior stepped up on this occasion in the 32nd minute of the game, the Real Madrid’s talented winger exchanged passes with Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes and cut inside to shape a lovely strike into the top corner against the run of play.

Brazil will go on to play Haiti in the next match while Morocco will face Scotland.
