Al-Hilal sign Summerville from West Ham in a £60m deal

Saudi club Al-Hilal have signed winger Crysencio Summerville in a deal worth £60m  from West Ham. The Netherlands international, 24, has undergone a medical after a deal worth an initial £55m and a further £5m in add-ons was accepted by the Hammers on Tuesday afternoon.West Ham had previously rejected an offer in the region of £40m for Summerville.

Despite reported interest from United and Villa to keep him in the top flight, Roma are understood to have been closest to securing a deal, though their bid has been substantially bettered by the Saudi side.

Summerville had three years remaining on his deal at the London Stadium but his departure was unstoppable since the club were relegated from the Premier League in May.

He played 31 times and scored five goals last season as West Ham suffered relegation, with his performances earning him a place in his country’s World Cup squad. He scored twice before the team were eliminated by Morocco in the round of 32.
