Osas Ighodaro stepped onto the red carpet at the Lagos premiere of A Mama Deola Wedding Story, looking every bit the bride in a custom Veekee James couture gown, complete with a sheer illusion corset, crystal embellishments, intricate lace appliqués and a sweeping chapel-length train.

There’s something we need to tell you, and we need you to take it seriously. Have you seen the looks from the A Mama Deola Wedding Story premiere? Because the fashion was clearly not playing around.

Don’t worry, we’ve got you. We’ll be bringing you the standout looks from the premiere, and judging by what we’ve seen so far, choosing a favourite is going to be no easy task.

But first, and we mean first, there is Osas Ighodaro.

If the dress code was wedding couture, Osas understood the assignment down to the last crystal. She arrived looking less like a guest at the premiere and more like someone who had been invited to the wedding and somehow ended up as the bride.

Her custom gown was designed by Veekee James, continuing the designer-muse relationship that has delivered several memorable fashion moments between the pair over the years. This latest creation was every bit as dramatic as the occasion demanded.

The gown featured a warm nude base layered beneath intricate ivory lace, with a sheer illusion corset bodice creating the foundation for the look. The structured top was detailed with boning and adorned with crystal and pearl embellishments, which continued down the fitted, long sleeves.

Floral lace appliqués cascaded down the floor-length skirt, adding dimension and a romantic finish to the otherwise sculpted silhouette.

And then came the train.

The gown extended into a sweeping chapel-length lace train that trailed behind Osas, bringing the full bridal fantasy to life. A matching floor-length veil, finished with delicate floral lace edging, completed the look and made it abundantly clear that this was not your standard red-carpet gown.

For beauty, Osas kept the focus firmly on the gown. Her hair was styled into a sleek, high half-up ponytail, with loose waves cascading down and soft side-swept bangs framing her face.

Her makeup featured bronze tones, defined cat-eye liner, sculpted cheeks and a glossy nude-brown lip, while delicate crystal drop earrings provided a subtle finishing touch without competing with the gown.

As for the film, A Mama Deola Wedding Story brings Folagade Banks’ popular Mama Deola character to the big screen in a feature-length comedy centred on Demilola and Femi’s wedding, with plenty of family antics, drama and wedding-day chaos along the way.

Directed by Femi Adebayo, the film stars Omowunmi Dada and Rotimi Salami, alongside Shaffy Bello, Bukky Wright, Iya Rainbow, Erica Nlewedim, Toyin Abraham and Akin Lewis.

The Lagos premiere took place on Wednesday, September 2, ahead of the film’s exclusive Kava release on September 3, 2026.

But back to Osas.

One thing about Osas Ighodaro and Veekee James: when they decide to lean into bridal glamour, they are not coming halfway. This was wedding couture with the volume turned all the way up, and Osas wore every inch of it with ease.
