England began their 2026 World Cup campaign against Croatia with goals from Jude Bellingham, Marcus Rashford and Harry Kane brace help Thomas Tuchel’s team secure the first win in a Group L opener in Dallas.
Harry Kane had given England the lead after he was gifted the opportunity to retake a penalty that was originally saved by Dominik Livakovic, but Croatia got themselves back into the match out of nowhere. Six minutes later, Declan Rice delivered a great corner kick right onto Kane’s head, who nodded in. Croatia replied again with another goal as Petar Musa tucked in a volley into the bottom corner, from an Ivan Perisic assist.
England responded with an impressive second half. Elliot Anderson, played a clever ball down the right, and Jude Bellingham held off his man and tucked into the bottom corner before Bukayo Saka found fellow substitute Marcus Rashford, who finished into the bottom corner in the 85th minute as England win their first game of the competition.
