South Korea come from behind to beat Czech republic

South Korea had kept most of the possession during the match against Czech Republic before Czech Republic’s captain scored the opening goal from a long throw.

The South Korea team captained by Son had most of the ball possession, Son had five out of the eighth South Korea chances in the first half. The ex Tottenham forward’s biggest chance was saved by South Korea’s goal keeper Matej Kovar early into the second half, before Feyenood defensive midfielder Krejci scored from a header for Czech republic.

Eight minutes after Krejci scored for Czech Republic, South Korea found the net through Feyenoord’s defensive midfielder Hwang who scored from a Lee Kang’s pass. Czech went on to score another goal as Tomas Scousek nodded the ball in from a free kick but was later ruled out as an offside goal.

Late into the game in the 80th minute, South Korea eventually turned it around when the substitute Oh Hyeon-Gyu came in to score the winning goal handling South Korea their first win of the tournament. South Korea will go on to face co-host Mexico in their next game while Czech Republic will play South Africa.
